Frequently asked questions
Safety, age limits, waivers, pricing, cancellations and accessibility.
Safety
Is anything actually dangerous?
No. Every room has compliant escape routes, emergency lighting and infrared cameras. Doors never lock and the safe word stops the game immediately.
What is the safe word?
The safe word is “LIGHTS”. The game master halts the show, lights come up and a steward walks you to the nearest exit. Your group may continue.
Will actors touch me?
Only in Room Nine’s intense mode and within the limits you choose with your wristband at check-in. No contact in any other experience.
Age
What are the age limits?
Whisper Garden 7+, The Last Ferry 12+, The Cistern 13+, The Sealed Floor 16+, Room Nine 18+. Under-18s need digital parental consent; under-12s must be accompanied by an adult.
Do you check ID?
Yes — for 18+ experiences and student tickets, at check-in.
Tickets
Why do I sign a waiver?
The waiver confirms you have read the health warnings and will follow the rules. Each participant signs individually, during booking or later in My ticket.
Why do prices vary?
Weekends, late sessions (after 9 pm) and special nights are busier, so pricing is dynamic. All prices on this demo are samples.
What are Scaredy and Intense modes?
Scaredy mode gives your group a neck lantern; actors keep more distance and sudden effects are softened. Intense mode (18+ only) brings actors closer and more persistent.
Changes
Can I cancel or change?
Free date change up to 48 hours before, 50% refund up to 24 hours before (sample policy — DEMO). Done in one click in My ticket.
What if I’m late?
Sessions run back to back: over 10 minutes late shortens your session; after 20 minutes entry is not possible.
Visiting
How early should I arrive?
20 minutes before. We scan your QR ticket, check waivers and hand out wristbands and lockers.
What should I wear?
Comfortable closed shoes and clothes you can move in. No heels; avoid white in Room Nine.
Accessibility
Is it wheelchair accessible?
The Cistern and Whisper Garden are step-free. The Sealed Floor has stairs and is not suitable.
Are there sensory-friendly sessions?
Every first Tuesday: “quiet sessions” with no strobes, softened sound and higher light levels.
